Winter - Muscle Aches, Joint Pain and Fatigue?

As we move into the colder, shorter and darkers days of the year its important to recognise that we are seasonal creatures. Our biology will pivot and shift during thes months of the year so it is natural to feel a little more lethargic and really important to take this into account.

Many injuries come on because of expectations that are out of step with nature’s natural rhythms. Pushing too hard when we are needing to slow down can lead to injuries that could otherwise be avoided. It’s important to listen to your body and work with where it is at. If you have a regular exercise routine maybe back of the intensity a little or have an rest day here and there. If you are starting something new build into it slowly and keep realistic expectations.

If though you are suffering with what feels like exessive fatigue, muscles aches and joint pain along with low mood you may be deficient in Vit D which is more likely during the months of shorter days and decreased sun exposure.

Ideally we need to get a daily dose of up to 30min of direct sunlight a day to keep our Vit D levels up. In winter preferably in the middle of the day.

Also consider that those aches and pains may also be a warning sign that you are carrying imbalances that are straining your body and are siumply now being highlighted now that winter has arrived and have a checkup with your chiropractor to get ahead of any developing problems
